National Hispanic Cultural Center Wedding

Angelica & Rich are an example of young, high-school-aged love that was revisited in adulthood and has now been stamped by eternity. They are both from the same small town in Northern New Mexico and their families have known one another for many, many moons. They eloped with their most intimate family members in 2018 and honeymooned throughout the West, immediately after. One year later they celebrated their union at their National Hispanic Cultural Center Wedding.

I feel nothing outside of honor that I got to document them in Zion National Park on their elopement honeymoon trail & then again at their National Hispanic Cultural Center Wedding in Albuquerque, NM. Angelica is an old friend of my sister’s and I now consider her one of my very own.

A few of my favorite aspects of their day include Rich’s vows being in both English and Spanish to honor his wife’s native tongue, the food options (still dreaming about the calabacitas!), and how they both immediately & enthusiastically took to the dance floor to celebrate their many years of growing together in love.

I also enjoyed how the bride was walked down the aisle by her entire immediate family – her sister, mother, and father (plus the group shot I was able to take directly after the ceremony!).

Another unforgettable aspect of their National Hispanic Cultural Center Wedding was how most of the details there were handmade — largely created by the bride and her mother.

The evening closed with the warmth of string lighting, fervent group dancing, Rich and Angelica laughing, and a Paleta cart, courtesy of Pop Fizz. It was a stunning experience and every bit of it made for one of the most fun weddings I have had the pleasure of photographing!
